Ok, grannies on holiday weeks visiting family, so I have 2 weeks to get as much #gameDev done as I can.

Lets see how long the food I have lasts 😅
Also how long it takes me to fall back into my pre-carer routing X'D

If you've ever made something in #gameMaker you more than likely watched at least one of SaraJS's incredibly helpful youtube tutorials.
Please go vote for her!
I was nominated for a thing!

It gives me the warm fuzzies to be nominated even though I don't get chance to do much these days! Thank you anyone who votes 4 me :3

All the other nominees just remind me how many cool people do so much work to make this community thrive!
That was tough, now the choice is yours!
Voting for the GameMaker Award 2025 is now open 🎉

I liked doing this, I miss Just Cause 2
In Just Cause 2 boats have a little bit of rope hanging from the fin at the back, this has physics and moves slightly as you sail around.
For some reason you can grapple onto this rope, which the physics engine DOES NOT LIKE.
I attached it to the Shark Easter Egg.

This system works really well when combined with strong layers.

Here the water and dirt are in layer 0, grass layer 1, trees layer 2 and so on.

They stack similar to how they would in 3d.

If you have to render in a single layer, though, there are better autotile systems like the one in RPGMaker.

Is this better? I'm not sure. I think I prefer it over the moving version?

Whoa it's almost like this entire cultural movement is based on fake bullshit at every level and our leaders should stop letting fucking social media dictate policy
Twitter had to turn off its location feature within hours because thousands of prominent and "verified" MAGA accounts turned out to be foreign and I think it's hilarious that Elon was the one who exposed them all

Dang. The wiggle shader works great, but because of the order I do things the stuff underwater doesn't wiggle :(

Updating my water again, added some stuff under to make things more visually pleasing. I think I need the tint back or maybe to try different blending.
Kinda want to try a displacement map again instead of the directional movemenet?
Need to find that again.

PLEASE tell every author you know about this!
Authors beware: ClaimsHero is urging authors to opt out of the Anthropic settlement in order to file their own separate lawsuit. Except this outfit has no federal or state court experience with class-action suits. And the judge has called them a fraud.
Predatory Opt-Out Scheme ClaimsHero Targets Anthropic Settlement Participants: What Authors Need to Know - The Authors Guild
In recent weeks, a third-party law firm, ClaimsHero, has launched an aggressive online campaign urging authors to opt out of the Bartz v. Anthropic copyright settlement. ClaimsHero—which has no litiga...

With the passing of Rebecca Heineman today, I wanted to share some images from her last, now forever unfinished project. She was working on amazing stuff right up until the end.

It was Dragon Wars remastered.

Jennell Jaquays was art directing.

every author in the class action, please file the claim.
AI advocates have warned that if every author in the class action filed a claim, it would "financially ruin" the entire industry.
Authors celebrate “historic” settlement coming soon in Anthropic class action
Advocates fear such settlements will “financially ruin” the AI industry.
