This point needs to be elevated:

By transforming DOJ into his personal “retribution” machine,
Trump has
endangered the public,
prevented the prosecution of
-child pornography,
-terrorism &
-major violent crime.

Trump & Bondi are forcing out the principled prosecutors who handle those cases.

- Melinda Williams, who prosecuted child pornography & sex crimes cases,
- Thomas Calhoun-Lopez, supervisor of the major violent crimes unit, &
- “the top fraud experts in the office.”

These are the prosecutors whom the public is losing, thanks to Trump & Bondi.

Today, the President warned CNN and MSNOW not to have me on their programs more — or else.

Looking forward to joining CNN later this evening and MSNOW tomorrow morning.

See y’all then.

Fred and Donald Trump hired Howard Rubenstein in .... 1973

We've only been aware of Trump's racism since a 1973 article about his real estate company refusing the rent apartments to black people, the first ever mention of his name in the NYT. That's why his Obama meme comes as a total shock. Who knew?

wow -- with Trump standing behind him, a man (not sure who he is) offers this prayer: "We pray that he would be mindful of the poor and that he would be invested in the alleviation of suffering happening in the families preparing to bury their loved ones in Minneapolis."

Again, I'll stop worrying about this & about January 2027 when he is impeached & removed. Until then, we have to walk & chew gum at the same time.
I’ll believe we shouldn’t worry about January 2027 like this when I see the president impeached & removed for any of the other 593 unprecedently illegal things that the norms, laws, & Constitution say that he simply cannot do & we have never seen done before.
If the president can rendition legal residents, cut funding for anything he wants, violate all of our treaty commitments, & can monetize the presidency, then he can try to not seat the next Congress/Dems in Jan 27. Folks who swore oaths should be preparing for what stopping that is going to require.

Garcia: I want to remind the American public of Stephen Miller. There's probably no single person in this government that has done more damage and more harm to people across this country than this man right here. It's our job to hold him responsible

Arrests in homes are the only scenario at issue (which ICE and Johnson are lying about). Outside of a home, a warrant isn't required at all. The government just needs probable cause in such cases. But, homes are different and a judicial warrant is required under well-established law.

Again, I know everyone wants to yell at The Democrats & Chuck Schumer & Hakeem Jefferies, but there are 10-25 people in Washington who could literally end all of this tomorrow, & none of them are Democrats, & they continue to get 24/7 free passes for being absolute oath-violating cowards. Focus.
Yes, we’re looking at you, Lisa Murkowski & Susan Collins & Thom Tillis, you absolute oath-violating cowards.
These 5 people could caucus with the Democrats, giving them a majority & firmly opposing the fascism, any time. It might be nice for an enterprising journalist to ask them why they keep not doing this every day as the crimes & corruption continue & John Thune refuses to fulfill his oath of office.

I remember when political scientists sounding the alarm about a Jan. 6-type event in ~October 2020 were ridiculed by "smart" pundits as radical leftists. One called an article in The Atlantic "too magazine-y." The good news is people seem to be taking 2026/28 much more seriously

Leigh Wambsganns devoted her professional life to Trump and his movement.

On Friday, he seemed to reward her loyalty by endorsing her campaign for Texas senate.

But after she lost a safe GOP seat by double digits, Trump says he’s never heard of her: “What can I say? I have nothing to do with it.”
Q: In Texas, a Democrat won a special election in an area you won by 17 points. Your reaction?

TRUMP: I don't know. I didn't hear about it. Somebody ran -- where?

Q: In Texas

TRUMP: I'm not involved. You mean I won by 17, and this person lost? Things like that happen. I'm not on the ballot

This is precisely the language everyone should be using to describe this attack on the American people.
In Springfield, Ohio, people are preparing in advance of a “large deportation” promised by the president. To all appearances, the city is two or three days from a federal ethnic cleansing, grounded in a hate campaign organized by the vice-president and American Nazis.

it has been clear for months
I gave a campus talk last night on Trump's first 100 days for the WUD Society & Politics group. A student asked me if I thought that, at some point, we might start to describe the US as a competitive authoritarian regime. I said that we were already there, it's just that most folks haven't noticed:

Another advantage of this clear, simple message to voters is that it is one of the few things that most people can easily identify with, even if they don’t have sophisticated, well-organized, & otherwise consistent views about policy & politics.
