Respectfully, I am going to whisper to some of our white comrades a truth that should be more widely known: You definitely have some ancestors to be proud of, ancestors who refused white supremacy, and poured out their lives in many of these struggles over time.

Time to claim your true history.

This reminds me of one of my favorite parenting days: my oldest (then four, now 13) was told to dress up as what he wanted to be someday for preschool.

He wore a full-on dragon costume, and reader: it ruled.
4yo: 'Can I go to school in my fleecy pyjamas today?'
Me: 'No, not today.'
4yo: 'Do I have to wear my human form?'
Me: 'Your uniform. That's right.'

Come hang out with your favorite game audio scholars in twenty minutes at the turn of the hour! We're digging into Metroid Prime: Remastered tonight as we hang out, discuss being an academic in 2026, and shooting space pirates to one of the best soundtracks in gaming.

Um... so today I was on @cbsmornings.bsky.social. 🤯

I talked to Jericka Duncan about why Black women matter to our economy. CBS called me a "Harvard Economist" (bruh). And Gayle King read my book, #TheDoubleTax. I'm in disbelief.

Here's a clip from our segment. #blacksky #news #jobs

The people in the Twin Cities have pulled off a miracle of logistics and decentralized organization. The idea that a city-wide general strike could be successfully organized at this scale and speed is itself history-making.

Congratulations to all of them on the effort! I hope the day is peaceful.

Scenario: a friend or family member is having surgery with an overnight stay and you are going to be their hospital advocate. Here is your packing list:

- a change of clothes for you both
- all their meds in original bottles in case the hospital pharmacy can't source something they take

To describe the current state of the world as a daily show of deepening horrors is a massive understatement.

However, I read something today that I think more people should see and read.

I hope she doesn't mind my me sharing it here.

I'll note that "the last" is at least stretched by one website, because @ocremix.org has been around since 1999 and it just as functional now as it has ever been -- over five thousand pieces of music posted in support of the site's mission to "promote video game music as an art form."
wikipedia turns 25 today! the last unenshittified major website! backbone of online info! triumph of humanity! powered by urge of unpaid randos to correct each other! somehow mostly reliable! "good thing wikipedia works in practice, because it sure doesn't work in theory" - old wiki adage

I think we are getting close to the point at which the athletes on Minnesota professional sports teams should start refusing to take the field/court/ice

Something has to be done to underscore the national emergency we are in, because I still do not think corporate media gets it

I can't spread this message enough. It's hard to make things right now, but I also need the art people are making to like, function.
I know that some of you in arts and entertainment feel down on yourselves right now, like your work is frivolous, in the midst of everything going on. Nothing could be further from the truth. You provide food for the heart, and you help get people through another day when times are hard.

please if people can share this around i would appreciate it.
maybe if it gets enough support it will get Steam to take harassment seriously.
if anyone can help 🙏

idk what to do because this means if i have my games on Steam, Steam will not do anything about harassment.
the Steam team responded to my support request and said they will not remove the review calling me a liar and ridiculing my sexual assault because of censorship concerns.
steamcommunity.com/profiles/765...
if Steam refuses to enforce their community guidelines and allows harassment, what can i do?
