The White House has been caught.

The administration inserted a photo of Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson, and Diana Ross into the Epstein files and falsely implied it showed them with victims.

In reality, it’s a publicly available fundraiser photo featuring Jackson and Ross’s own children.

Never has a society so close to ruin been so preoccupied with the wrong issues. Our economy is teetering, autocracy is calling from inside the house, our planet has stage IV fuckery poisoning, and we’re OBSESSED with which bathroom people use, gold-plating, robo art, and renaming shit to sound kewl.

Funny animal videos no longer being trustworthy just fucking sucks all around. I love the wonder of animal behavior and what it says about the experience of being alive. It's because it happened in reality that it's so fun. It's not fun if it was just made up. There's no wonder there.

This is extraordinary, heartbreaking, and a red alert warning sign for our democracy.

These people are about to be federal judges, and they refuse to answer whether the U.S. Capitol was attacked on January 6.

They say they can't comment because it's "a political controversy".
Sen. BLUMENTHAL: Was the U.S. Capitol attacked on January 6, 2021?

Trump nominee: Well, individuals entered the Capitol.

Blumenthal: You are in fear—how will you have the courage to be fair and impartial?

The most unrealistic thing about the Fantastic Four movie is not the giant, world-devouring villain, it’s how the planet comes together to fight this threat. The entire planet cuts down on power usage and puts existence at risk to preserve the life of one baby.

It’s laughable at this point.

I don’t think I’m being alarmist. If anything, I worry that we’ve become so inured to Trump’s madness that we’re not alarmist enough.

I am looking for more work! I don't mean writing (though that too, sure!), but in the vein of the work I do for the Le Guin Foundation: organizational, practical, assistant-y, bookish work.

The ACA isn't just "health care for people who don't have a conventional employer." It also disallows something that was incredibly common 20 years ago, which I fear is getting lost to generational memory: insurance companies could deny you health care for essentially any previous health problem.
I'm dubious about Amazon's commitment to keeping pre-existing conditions a thing of the past.
