Extraordinary AI scandal story coming out of Australia. British accountancy and professional services firm Deloitte has been caught out fabricating a £215,000 report on Australia's welfare system using AI instead of the human oversight & diligence expected.

Who else does it?

I believe in the democratisation of politics, & the right for anyone to run for office. But this proves there is also a need for competency tests. We make migrants pass life & knowledge tests many native-born folk can't pass, so politicians should do law/culture exams to run.

The thing that is really grating is they are absolutely not winning the media war - they are not controlling the narrative or shouting enough about the things they are doing well.

Starmer needs to be more proactive at calling pressers to say "today we are here to talk about X".

I posted about this earlier in the year. Despite making real achievements in areas like Ukraine, devolution and transport; the problem is they are being hounded by the (mostly anti-Labour right-wing) media on issues they are not doing well on: Israel, immigration, growth etc

They really have been busy little bees, buzzing away quietly achieving, and really highlighting the utter incompetence, corruption, and wasted years of neglect and regression that the 14-year Tory failure represented.

I was quite surprised, given the amount of negative press that would have you believe that this government is the worst we’ve had yet.

I’ll put the link in the next post but given we had a complete shit show with the Tories, this is astonishing. Do reshare or bookmark the link, it’s handy.
Under the last Tory Govt, elected in 2019, of 42 Manifesto Pledges, only
2 were delivered in 5 years.
Under the current Labour Govt, elected in 2024, of 83 Manifesto Pledges, 57 are delivered (18), on track (19), or in process (20).
In 1 year.

Putin believed throwing Russia's youth in the grinder like quick-burning kindling on a bonfire, would overwhelm Ukraine; but as Iceland discovered, even forests have limits.

Russia is losing this war—they now have no hope of succeeding & economic ruin beckons.

Thread.

When Enron collapsed, taking Arthur Andersen (then one of The Big Five accounting firms) with them the two big issues were:
1. Enron’s corporate culture which was dependent on the value of their shares always going up.
And
2. Their Mark-to-Market bookkeeping system

Constitutional checks on power is not terrorism. First Amendment protected free speech is not terrorism. Criticism is not terrorism. The right of the people to peacefully assemble and address grievances toward their government is not terrorism.

Speak truth to power. Always.

1 week ago Nathan Gill pled guilty to 8 charges of Russian bribery.

Nigel Farage, Richard Tice, Dr David Bull and Paul Nuttall, all senior Reform UK leadership, all colleagues of Gill’s through UKIP, Brexit Party and Reform UK.

All have done what guilty people do.

Silence.

We've spent a decade arguing amongst ourselves and sending the economy backwards for no positives of any kind, the racists still aren't appeased and still blame everyone else for anything else, and meanwhile China has lept ahead on controlling next gen tech & growing wealth.

A decade ago, China was busy mapping out a plan to ensure it dominated the growing key industries of the mid-21st century, securing prosperity in the process.

At the same time Britain was busy tearing itself it two & arguing its way out of the world's largest trading bloc.
