Still amazed by positive impact of bikes on society after 40 yrs in bike trade. Manage www.westminsterwheels.co.uk community bike shop. Married to the powerful artist Sylwia Narbutt. Father to an amazing daughter and our ballistic puppy Miso.
We’ve been offered a plot on an allotment! Haven’t seen it yet but we will embrace and care for this green space. (We’ve no garden/balcony) We shared a plot on this allotment for one summer years ago, it was beautiful. 2026 is shaping up to be fantastic and hard work. So happy.

We could have told you that. A family dog is better integrated into its wider human community and landscape than a chauffeured child.
It turns out vehicular traffic does something else, too, more subtle but equally pernicious: It changes the way children see and experience the world by diminishing their connection to community and neighbors.

Kids Who Get Driven Everywhere Don't Know Where They're Going

The biggest difference between the very wealthy and us? I would go crazy not chatting to my neighbours, they pay whatever it takes to not. Their “nice”neighbourhood is my idea of hell.

Is there an app you can feed documentaries from the USA into to delete the catch ups, repetitions and padding?
I’m positive you could only harvest 50mins of actual content from 5 hours of programming.

Can you imagine? It’s like marching against vaccines or traffic calming or windmills.
Fascinating! Protestors not always on the right side of history.

Love this. Reform voter is pro cyclist. Green voter seriously suggests taxing them.

Amen. It’s a filthy industry, greenwashing whilst rejoicing in obsoletism. Look at a replacement mech hanger chart and weep.

Cycle tough.
A French cyclist survived for three days after a horrendous 130-foot fall into a ravine, kept alive by the bottles of red wine he had in his shopping bag, police said.

I feel so stupid. Of course the guy that knocked me off my bike gave me a dud number. I was so discombobulated and he was so effusively apologetic. The shock meant I didn’t follow the advice I give others. Get them to call your number, photo the reg. Check ID I’m fine. Bike fine. Ego not so good.

Today was probably the best day in my life. Exiting Lidl the security guard said I looked like his all time favourite actor,
Steve McQueen! The uniformed gentleman had no obvious disabilities, seemed to be sober but wore no spectacles. Maybe he’d broken them this morning.
