Well, my first Mass Effect lore video has now topped 100k views, which, considering that for the first several months it didn't get more than a few hundred, is more than I expected.

The Dick Cheney hunting incident in which he shot attorney Harry Whittington in the face occured February 11, 2006.
This is too late to be canon to the Halo universe (which was released 5 years earlier), but early enough to be canon to that of Mass Effect, which was released well over a year later.

This reminds me of those videos of people lining up to get slapped by Japanese wrestling legend Antonio Inoki. I don't even read The Witcher, but after reading this, I'd go to a Comic Con to be rudely dismissed by this guy.

I have never heard of tipping a bakery, but the fact that OP is talking about buying 10 boxes of pastries tells me that this didn't happen.
ok help me out if you went to a popular bakery and bought 10 boxes of their pastries which regularly sell out and did not tip and then heard the staff making a sarcastic comment about how you did not tip who's the asshole here you or them.

Bidets are the real-life equivalent to the three seashells
All right, y'all, help me out. This is a bidet, right? (It's in my airbnb.) So, the idea is, you poop in the toilet and then...crab walk a few feet to your left, with your pants down? And stick your butt down in this thing? There's no seat, as such, so you're just...hovering your butt down into it?

This is true. In my experience, it's clearly useful in software engineering, with the caveat that you need to already know what you're doing.
It is also useful for more mundane lookup purposes, with the other caveat that much of the use could have been fulfilled with google pre-enshittification.

I think a lot of people who are reasonable AI skeptics are saying things like “I don’t see a reliable use for LLMs in areas I’m an expert in” and that those folks are quite distinct from people who argue that LLMs don’t have capabilities that they clearly do

Real talk- if bioware does end up getting sold off, unless it went to someone like Amazon, I'd be willing to throw a bit of money in whomever bought it.

Due to the unique way Super Mario Bros. stores its maps, its level designers were at the mercy of the decorative hills and bushes when placing bottomless pits. While the pits can be placed freely, the decorations are non-negotiable and dictate the level design.

Legal ideas for social media:
Ban auto scroll features, go after advertisements aimed at children, ban phones in schools, otherwise enact regulations to implement friction in the user experience.
Do things that aren't outright bans, but aimed at reducing total hours online.

Internet brained, irony poisoned people who cannot grasp a simple concept like this are *one* of the reasons I stopped posting on twitter.
Political violence is bad because civil conflict is absolutely fucking terrible for everyone. It empowers the worst people within a society and feeds into endless cycles of escalating violence that get harder and harder to stop.

Phonics. It's phonics. Your school needs to be teaching kids how to read with phonics. It's nice to inculcate a culture of reading at home but your school needs phonics-based instruction. If they don't raise hell at your school board until they do.
Y'all gonna make me tap my sign again that reading to your kid at home is not enough for a lot of kids to learn how to read and that schools do not put enough resources into screening for dyslexia and making sure that kids who need direct, explicit phonics instruction are getting it.
