SCHIAPARELLI SPRING 2026 COUTURE COLLECTION [1/2].
The model wears a sharp-shouldered Elsa jacket, which references archival Schiaparelli work, with a dramatic collar that turns into a bird's wing embroidered with thousands of hand-painted sfumato effect feathers and silver embroidery. The wings frame both sides of the model's face, stretching higher on the left. The jacket is feathered in green, brown, yellow, mauve, and cream and has hand-sculpted 3d bird beaks stretching out from the breasts. The model wears no shirt, revealing the middle of their torso, and black velvet trousers. They wear a silver headpiece decorated with black rhinestones, featuring a central crystal and small spikes. They wear black satin sandals with a curved heel. The model wears a bustier gown with a dramatic décolleté ("The upper part of a woman's torso, comprising her neck, shoulders, back and chest, that is exposed by the neckline of her clothing." "The split between a woman's breasts") embroidered with hundreds of iridescent crystal-dipped peacock feathers in various shades of green. Underneath the skirt (jupon) are stacked layers of black tulle and the model wears nude satin sandals with a curved heel and a strassed keyhole. Their hair is cut in a severe bob and they wear bird's head earrings. The model wears a butterfly spiral, sleeveless top comprised of handmade lace that swirls around their upper body and shoulders, obscuring parts of the face. The lace took 4,000hrs of embroidery to complete. The look is paired with a sfumato effect tulle skirt that faces from nude at the top to black at the bottom. The model wears nude satin sandals, once again with the curved heel and keyhole. They wear sfumato effect gloves that match the gradient of the skirt, but reversed: black at the top, nude at the fingers. NOTE: sfumato is: "a painting technique for softening the transition between colours, mimicking an area beyond what the human eye is focusing on, or the out-of-focus plane. It is one of the canonical painting modes of the Renaissance." The model wears a sheer, transparent bustier with ruffled edges that turns into a thick scorpion's tail that curls over the model's head. The tail is embroidered in transparent bas-relief lace with 3D motifs held in place by needles. The bustier has ruffles along the neckline and wider ones along the bottom. The model wears a pencil skirt in black caviar wool, paired with nude satin mule shoes. They wear large pearl earrings. Personally, I think the tail looks more like a gecko's than a scorpion's, for ease of visualization, but who am I to argue with Schiaparelli's official description.

Catherine O’Hara was an actual genius who was currently doing the best work of her entire life, there was obviously so so so much more to see from her. This sucks so bad, but it’s also inarguable that she went out on the top of her game in a way that we can all only pray happens in our own lives
