I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

American public opinion is largely generated by foreigners who make money by lying to Americans over unregulated social media. Out of respect to those entrepreneurial foreigners, we will continue to treat their commodified fictions as one side of a reasoned American debate.

The last DC comic on sale in 2025 just left for the printer -- the spectacular ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN #15. This has been one of the most exciting, challenging, and rewarding years of my twenty-year career at this company. Thank you to all of you who've been showing up for these books; we're so proud.

[whispers quietly] most praise for ROGUE ONE is actually just people trying to express their deep love for ANDOR without actually accounting for ROGUE ONE’s many creative failures

This came out right after I started getting into the Pet Shop Boys during my study abroad in London in ‘03, and it really cemented the whole deal for me. A terrific best-of, and both the new tracks are great too.
