We need unions right fucking now, this shit has got to stop. If I read one more story about a studio laying everyone off right after launch when they don't hit peak Fortnight numbers I'm going to lose it.

Just whipped up a basalmic vinaigrette because spouse forgot to watch the Wendy's staff like a hawk and they gave us Caesar dressing for our apple pecan salad.

Like 75% of the US Olympic curlers are from Minnesota. A lot of them curl out of two clubs in Saint Paul, one club is in Frogtown, a neighborhood that has been very heavily targeted by ICE. These curlers are good neighbors.

My refusal to use AI has not negatively affected my life in any way. In fact, it's been positive, as a number of players have said they specifically bought my game after noticing my strong anti-AI stance.

I actually agree that there is going to be a skill gap between people who regularly use AI vs those who refuse to use it, and it's that after the bubble pops the refusers will be fine while the AI-dependent will be missing or have let atrophy basic skills

WE aren't going to (not actual writers... we WANT to WRITE). The question is how much publishers think they can get away with using AI to replace people. I suspect the greater threat is AI "editors."

I've found that often "talent" is just "something to which this person was exposed early in life, so it comes a little easier when they start actually working on it." Because the body remembers. But you can still develop a skill at which you're not "talented" if you put in the work.
I'm going to say this again in case you haven't heard this one: I was a talented writer and it did *nothing whatsoever* because I hadn't put in the work, and I put in the work for ten years (subtracting the bit where I had to quit for my mental health) to write Witchmark

Of course. Sociology teaches us to look critically at how society is structured and why it's structured that way. Which of course leads to the desire to make things more equitable. We can't have that.
I do want to shout-out my fellow sociologists, who have collectively created a discipline so woke that not a single one of our introductory textbooks can make it past Florida's censors.
