Take a trip with me to NYC and we'll visit the corner store to get a comforting breakfast sandwich all wrapped up for us. Then we'll make a great version to call our own at home.

If you say it correctly, New Yorkers won't be able to guess that you're from Iowa. Also, memorize the phrase saltpepperketchup.

This. But also, I can't stand the phrase, "I wrote a new blog."

No you didn't, you wrote a post on your blog! The blog holds the posts. Geez Louise that frustrates me more than it should...
I wish people would stop using the term "Substack" as a medium instead of blog/newsletter. It's hugely detrimental, often excluding writers who chose other platforms. If I referred to Pellicle as my "Squarespace" that would just be fucking weird.

If it's too cold outside to go to work and all the stores are closed, that's the perfect time to bake some bread. I have a bunch of recipes here. Let me know if you have specific ingredient substitution questions. boundedbybuns.com/recipes/list...

I tried another viral social media recipe that usually uses ground beef or lamb, with the goal of converting it to use chicken. Then I tucked that crispy chicken meat inside of soft warm pita with tomato, red onion and a creamy yogurt based tzatziki sauce for a fantastic gyro-style experience.

This is a bad take, but I respect the conviction.
1. Mayo is the single most disgusting concoction ever devised. It serves no purpose. Sorry your food is dry, make it better next time. Even a sandwich cut with a knife that had once had mayo on it is instantly ruined

I painted one of the original Kronos Gyros models. Kronos Foods is one of the largest manufacturers of gyros in the world, and it's located in Glendale Heights, IL. These posters were very commonly seen all over the Chicago area (and other parts of the world) in hot dog stands and Greek restaurants.

No one that watches News Nation has ever willingly eaten a corn tortilla that wasn't a fried hard shell from Taco Bell or a grocery store box kit.
Brooke Rollins: "We've run over 1,000 simulations. It can cost around $3 a meal for a piece of chicken, a piece of broccoli, corn tortilla, and one other thing. So there is a way to do this that actually will save the average American consumer money."

UPDATE: Jack Daniel’s parent co. Brown-Forman tells me it has nothing to do with CBS’ “Whiskey Friday” concept. “Jack Daniel’s is not involved in any such segment, nor do we have any awareness of the segment and any potential partnerships or sponsorships.”
Update — Here is what the new apparent CBS News segment "Whiskey Fridays with Tony Dokoupil" may look like:

Dilberitos (1999-2003): A line of licensed vegan microwave burritos tied-in with the comic strip "Dilbert". Available in Mexican, Indian, Barbecue, and Garlic & Herb. Noted for it's poor taste and food engineering that packed all 23 essential vitamins and minerals into each one

January is a great time to make beef stroganoff. And I think one of the most comforting ways to enjoy it is when it's tucked inside of a crusty bread roll with extra sauce drizzled all over. Read more and get the recipes to make your own stroganoff sandwich.
