WBA, St Pauli, decent music, good reads, cycling and other lost causes. Getting on a bit.

Thanks for sharing that. In the end it still feels like an elaborate excuse for not wanting to spend the money upfront. Let’s hope that hospitals aren’t overwhelmed this winter by Covid patients who would in previous years have been vaccinated.

Indeed. We are entitled to be angry, but, as usual, the people we should be angry with aren’t around, and it’s not right to get cross with GPs and/or nurses.

Same here. Hence my question. I can only think it’s about saving money, though if lots of older people end up in hospital this winter it won’t be much of a saving.

Are there any justifiable clinical reasons to change the eligibility to 75 year olds? I’m 71, had pneumonia a few years ago following Covid, and am suddenly ineligible, despite having had the booster a year ago.

He should be stunned. Anyone got a spare taser?

Fair point, though Fiona Bruce’s response to Zack calling Reform out over Russia bribes shows what we are all up against.

Trump will be fuming!

What a shame…

Me neither, tbf. Though the Welsh apparently saw it as a useful test for them - which they failed, obvs.

Aye. Did well to pounce for the goal

This Scotland game is loads more entertaining than the borefest at Wembley.
I’ve only been watching for ten minutes, mind.

Loyalty has replaced competence. PPE has replaced life experience.

Robert Jenrick is a grubby, power-grabbing arsehole. Did he even go to Handsworth? If he did, did he actually step out of his tinted-windowed Range Rover, or whatever bastardmobile his chauffeur drives for him?

Hiya. Yep, after a good start, St Pauli, like Albion, have stuttered. It’s a bit early to call their next game a 6-pointer, but, given that they both have 7 points atm, it kind-of is.
And Mason needs 3 points v PNE, to lift some pressure off him.
Hope both sides get the result needed (obvs)

And if the wind is blowing towards Reform, she won’t want to miss the boat.

I know Handsworth well. I love it. The Soho Road is one of the most vibrant streets in the world. I was attached to the library there for a writing project last year and I wrote a whole chunk about it in my book Hope And Glory. Read it if you get a chance

It’s quite a common thing for all sorts of young people to avoid food & drink during the school day, so they don’t have to visit the toilets. They’ve long been a site of all kinds of bullying. Debate about unisex, cubicle-based loos was ‘live’ around 20-odd years ago.

To be fair (though I get your general point), it wasn’t Mason who missed those second-half sitters v Leicester. We had quite a bit of attacking intent second half last Friday.
But last night was grim, faw shaw.

That’s a very good formulation. Should be on a plaque somewhere.

And it’s Pat-riot, not pay-triot, ffs.

Though however you pronounce it, it’s still the last refuge of the scoundrel.

And this ‘working people’ thing is bollocks as well

Starmer says something half-decent about opposing racism, then we see all the twats waving their silly little flags on the conference floor.

Jeez, enough with the flags already!
