same. for trans liberation, we really need wider acceptance for ALL of those things, regardless of whether they are medical, social, or legal, and regardless of how difficult or permanent or transient they seem, because they are all important to our trans identities

i really appreciated this reply that emphasizes just how many aspects of transition involve deep, lifelong commitment, and how hard it is to pin down the difference between “sex” and “gender” – both are social constructs with huge amounts of overlap

i think that's true for some, but there's a huge fraction of people who think it's either impossible or immoral to change who you are. that anybody who claims to do so is lying, lost, or broken
