please, as an american who realizes our country is the authoritarian nightmare that you all see, i beg you & all other nations:

boycott the world cup in 2026.

boycott the olympics in 2028.

maybe … this will wake up the "don't talk politics to me" middle to see how far we've fallen in the world.
This is what makes us Canadians say, "the relationship will never be quite the same ever again". There is a fault now, and it will take generations to repair

1. A terrible new bill targeting trans youth has passed committees in Florida.

It would potentially allow health care practitioners, including therapists, to be charged with "aiding and abetting" transgender youth to transition, local orgs say.

From Pharmacists to Therapists, Florida Could Prosecute “Aiding And Abetting” Trans Youth Care If New Bill Passes
These bills can be weaponized against providers or schools based on “suspicion, politics, or grievances from ideological extremists.”

more @aoc.bsky.social on c-span and less trump on air force one, please.
AOC: This is quite a bit of market concentration. Agreed?

CVS HEALTH CHAIR DAVID JOYNER: No. I'd suggest it's a model that works well for the consumer

AOC: It works well for CVS. Health insurance gets a cut, pharmacy benefit manager gets one, drug manufacturer gets one, & the patient gets screwed

Fifty-three years after Roe v. Wade, politicians are still trying to control the most personal medical decisions Americans make. That’s why Arizona voters said enough in 2024 and enshrined reproductive freedom in our constitution.

ICE is so bad, is has been making people forget just how bad the vast majority of regular cops are.

don't lose sight of this for after ICE is finally abolished.

take some time out of your day following the ICE invasion of minneapolis & trump's continued cognitive slide into malignant narcissism while waiting for release of the epstein files …

… and read this very simple language piece on the ussc efforts to untwist the pretzel on unitary executive theory.

"the potential future support of pro-cop people whose support they do not and never will have."

a pure truth that those who are out of touch at the top will never get.

i am around a lot of these people playing sports (pro-cop & off-duty cup); they have nothing but pure undiluted contempt for Ds.
Democratic leadership is terrified of being seen on the side of the people of Minneapolis, least they lose the potential future support of pro-cop people whose support they do not and never will have.
I have been actively involved in protest movements for 24 years. I have never seen anything approaching this scale. Minneapolis is not accepting what's happening here. ICE fucking murdered a woman for participating in this, and all that did is bring out more people, from more walks of life.

here is someone interested in telling the truth about what is happening in the ground.

this is journalism.

read the thread.
I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

"veering towards dysfunction"?

it was peak dysfunction the minute bari weiss and her political thumb on the scale became the story.

it's dysfunctional because they have journalists who care about journalism, and now have a boss who does not know the meaning of the word nor the professional habits.
VARIETY: “10 people familiar with the workings of CBS News say the Paramount Skydance unit is veering toward dysfunction, with a management team led by Bari Weiss that doesn’t value standards held by veteran journalists…”

Welp, this didn’t take long.
