One of the easiest ways I found to eat a bunch less animal protein without much work was to basically stop eating chicken. It's just a vehicle for sauce/cooking techniques most of the time. Plant based protein swaps are v v v simple.

oh but also chicken is a massive disappointment of a meat and i can’t imagine saying “something must die for my tummy” and picking that. eat a condor if you just want to kill something. make it count. or pick a better meat. like arby’s.

(i’m serious: i used to love arby’s)

hmm this Art. it speaks to me
screenshot from tumblr. username @matthewsiji.com says "It's 2050 and a teen girl is torrenting a .tar.gz file of all the consciousness of all the tech bros who uploaded themselves into the cloud in a bid for immortality and modding them into The Sims 4"

username crazy-pages reblogs with the added note: "I can't decide if it's better if they're not really uploaded into the cloud, they just all tricked themselves into thinking a GPT model trained on their brain is them, so she's playing with their fake echoes in a macabre imitation of the immortality they deluded themselves into believing they had. Or if they're real and she's just about to torment them forever"

1. Anti-trans outrage is losing its bite.

Last week, Elon Musk led a mass boycott campaign to get trans characters removed from shows on the platform.

Major conservatives joined in.

Now, we have the result: the boycott was a fizzle, and Netflix stock is up.

The crazy thing abt this hearing is that the Judge keeps saying, "What about this"
DOJ lawyer: Hypothetical.
Judge: Literally the Attorney General said that on TeeVee yesterday.

Perry is asking whether the law could be triggered by Illinois' sanctuary status.

Hamilton: "Well, so, it's a hypothetical. It's very different from the situation here."

Perry: "It's not. It's not a hypothetical."

She notes AG Pam Bondi has suggested just that.

Subhead really needs to s/which he denies/which doesn't exist/ to be doing the good work of the fourth estate. Not even mentioning this in the article elevates this to collaboration
karlbode.com
you'd think a prominent news outlet like the New York Times might mention that "antifa" isn't an actual organization in a long story about antifa, but nope!

and the subhead helps props up a false claim this professor was up to something seedy as something up for debate
NYT headline: "Rutgers Expert on Antifa Tries to Flee to Spain After Death Threats"

subheadline: "Mark Bray was teaching courses on antifascism. Turning Point USA accused him of belonging to antifa, which he denies. His flight to Spain was canceled abruptly on Wednesday night."

The situation on cycleway 1 at Whitmore Road is just completely unworkable and it is a travesty the Hoxton LTN hasn’t been designed to fix this. There is *far* too much motor traffic for these cycle flows. Someone is going to get hurt. @sarahwoodberrydown.bsky.social @hackneylcc.bsky.social

Even a pause in the killing and displacement would be good and I share the cautious optimism that this could end this phase of the catastrophe. But it is wild that people are treating this as if it’s the negotiated end of the Russo-Japanese War, or even Camp David 1978.

Everyone can set aside partisanship, psychologizing, pathologizing, whatever, and—I would hope—still see that it’s incredibly dangerous for a political leader to be this disconnected from the real conditions in the country.

It's interesting seeing the different ways resistance has formed in different cities. Los Angeles Organized, Chicago Radicalized, and Portland Got Weird as Fuck. All 3 have had success unifying their respective cities.

I guess my point is there are multiple paths to ungovernability.

that the entire republican party and the supreme court have enthusiastically gone along with this is a structural issue that also needs to be solved and we cannot simply return the pre-trump status quo, yes
