Closing any business on a Friday is tough, but closing a bar on a Friday during Dry January? Mad respect Wes. Everyone go out and support @blackhartstp.com the other 6 days of this week.
This is a tough decision and one honestly I did everything to not make. Please come out for Thursday and Saturday's shows.
ATTENTION.
On Friday, January 23rd, we will be closed as part of the ICE OUT general strike opposing the federal occupation of Minnesota.

It's hard to imagine all the trauma inflicted by the federal government on this neighborhood/city/state, and yet here they are, resilient as ever

‼️Our relatives cannot shelter safely outside due to ICE escalation. MIWRC offers a culturally grounded low-barrier sanctuary; services, warmth, food, safety, & support obtaining tribal ID’s/documents.

This is survival. This is sovereignty. We take care of us.

At a beer release tonight and somehow got on the topic of the Presidential Physical Fitness Award. Of course I had to refresh my memory when I returned home and had no idea regarding the history archive.ph/fiBGB

In a dog walk around my Minneapolis neighborhood, 14 degrees but feels like 7, I encountered three people in high viz vests patrolling, 2 people heading to a meeting of local businesses, too many anti-ICE signs to count and children happily sliding down a steep hill of pure ice.

Hey Minnesota.

I know things are dark right now. But May Day will come again.

Peak fall in Duluth will come again.

Walleye season and canoe season will come again.

The Fair and People’s Pride will come again

And they will be all the brighter.

No one let go of anyone’s hand.

keep thinking of this @jumaane.bsky.social quote while seeing regular people line the streets of minneapolis to protect their neighbors.
NYC Public Advocate @jumaane.bsky.social: “There are tens of thousands of people whose names we will never know who stood up and was the light in the dark times that got us through.”

Saw more of these today, seen on Lake Street in Uptown Minneapolis.

Person walks past large wheat pasted posters of Renee Good that read:

"Renee Nicole Good"
"American Mom"
"Murdered by ICE"
