This morning, our public schools superintendent sent out a message that included this:

"I am reminded of bell hooks’ reflection that “the classroom remains the most radical space of possibility in our society.” Our responsibility, especially in moments of constraint, is to protect that space.

Heartbroken to learn that a powerful advocate for improving Black maternal health, herself, passed away during childbirth.

Harrowing stories like hers remind us of the urgent work we have to do to address the maternal mortality crisis we currently face.

We are fed up with endless hand-wringing stories about bogus autism
causes, “epidemics,” & labels.

We want to see more stories boosting how to better support, understand, & educate autistic people.

Repost (or scream loudly even if just inside your head) if you agree.

Why has U.S. #education failed us, you ask? It is not education—it is schooling. Schooling is grouping & following. It is absolutely predictable that generations do not know how to think.

What is the purpose of our supposed ‘education’? Workers who enrich their employers.
