Spokane, sports, comics, and whatever rabbit hole I am down at the moment
Living - Whit Stillman. I don’t think his politics are especially toxic but the classism definitely seeps through.

Dead - Walt Disney. He gets a pass for how the studio has evolved after his death.
Here’s a question: who is the artist with politics you disagree strongly with, whose politics *do* (in your view) influence their art, that you still think is talented and whose work you enjoy?

Visited friends in Sun Valley, Idaho and they got me a pass to their gym. I got off the treadmill and Jamie Lee Curtis was waiting behind me to use the next free machine.
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

Should emphasize how unnecessary this escalation was. This smoke and tear gas was used against completely peaceful protest about a block from an open air soccer stadium filled with kids and families. Why discharge those rounds knowing the wind could easily take the fumes onto the field?

Smoke bombs drift over the field during the Velocity match. Maybe next time Spokane PD can figure out which way the wind is blowing before letting off some of these.

“Fix your hearts or die” directly relates to a trans character but of course cis people can’t keep their grubby mitts off it to make it a bumper sticker meaning whatever they want.

Keep the quote’s context or fuck off.

Today, a brush fire started in Pacific Palisades fueled by extremely high winds.

At the Getty Villa, some trees & vegetation on site have burned, but no structures are on fire, and staff and the collection remain safe.

The Villa is closed to non-emergency staff and the public.

When my son was preparing to go away to college we took a few trips to our local grocery store so he could learn how to shop. Start in meat section and look for sales. Then get ingredients that complement meat you found. One of my best dad lessons.
The funny thing about the doordash vs cooking debate is that it ignores that supermarkets have many cheap & decent food options (frozen food & boil in bag rice etc.) that require 0 cooking skill beyond turn oven on/boil water & 2 minutes. If I could do them on a grad student's budget & schedule...
sorry, but “it is more cost effective to prepare food at home vs ordering delivery” is just true? you can do whatever makes sense for your life but that fact remains.

The first one I still remember is rookie Will Clark, Candlestick Park 1986. I’d seen a couple of Giants games before that but have no real memory of the game action.
