Authoritarianism can only succeed when democracy fails to deliver for working people.

Authoritarian parties can only succeed when the pro-democracy parties fail to fight for working people.

We need a new democracy and a new party system which can represent working people.

Robbie Gibb was appointed to the BBC Board by Boris Johnson, was an editorial advisor for GB News, and worked as Theresa May's Director of Comms.

He is not impartial or neutral. The government should remove him from the Board immediately to protect the BBC's independence.

Dazza is furious with the BBC for reporting about a white man who raped young girls.
Dazza wouldn’t have been furious about the reporting if the perpetrator hadn’t been white.
Men like Dazza aren’t concerned about the girls, they want a reason to demonise anyone not white.

@sarahowen.org.uk a very good question in the house regarding the bbc , I agree the tory spin doctor should not be on the board and as for mps having their own news program on gb news well that should be stopped as it's a conflict of interest

Not for glory
Self
Or war

But to take a stand

Against hatred, malice and a world devoid of love

To say, and stand, and die, to hold this thin and fragile and broken line

The boundary

Between light

And darkness

And that beyond this line

The shadows will not fall

I urged the Government to reinstate creative teacher training bursaries. Creative subjects make learning a joy and help every child thrive.
The UK still leads in the creative industries — let’s invest in the teachers who inspire it.

@felicityhannah.bsky.social morning fliss, regarding the bbc . I do feel so sad and sorry for the journalists, presenters and staff that work hard to produce top quality reports and programmes. This latest report must feel like a dagger through the heart to the staff of the BBC.

Hitler got into power because the left in Germany was bitterly divided.

Why can‘t our politicians learn the lesson of history?
Yep. And Polanski has confirmed, again, that he’d refuse a coalition or confidence and supply arrangement with Labour in favour of letting the far right back into power.

Because he’s chasing the cranks and they’ll refuse to vote for him if there was any chance they might actually win an election.

The resignations of Tim Davie and Deborah Turness must be an opportunity for the BBC to turn a new leaf, rebuild trust and resist those like Nigel Farage who want to destroy it

We must stand up for a strong, independent BBC, to stop Trump’s America becoming Farage's Britain.

A day mostly of remembrance and respect, but also having abuse screamed at me by people who apparently think using foul language at a remembrance service (and in front of small children) makes them the best patriots ever.

I really believe that our greatest achievement in the UK in the last 30 years are our gun laws.
America can never put the genie back in the bottle and it’s a genuine tragedy.

We will remember everyone.

Everyone who fought, who lived, who died, and every conscientious objector, too.

We will remember their sacrifice.

We will remember their belief in freedom, and the common humanity that unites us.
