Fair enough. Every cat I've ever had, I've liked substantially better than every racist shitbird in history, and that's really all any of those fuckers are doing these days.

i think if you ride public transit enough you learn that most weird behavior is not dangerous, and conversely i think driving a car teaches you that everyone is trying to kill you at all times
It's exactly a Hershey's Kiss but it says 'get fucked nerd lmao' on the little paper tail.

The square cube law is not in the reader's favor here, sadly. Mars has a huge battle mech scene. They can get away with heavier bot designs at 0.38 g, and have thousands of kilometers of uninhabited desert on which to stage battles far away from structures that could get obliterated by shrapnel.
The people who constantly bitch about this are essentially just housecats; they believe they're fierce, pure Artemisian hunters for whom help is an insult, but they depend entirely upon a myriad of systems, corrective measures, and guardrails that they neither understand nor respect.

A failing society is one that demands people starve in order to uphold arbitrary and socially constructed ideas of normalcy, value, and worth.

We need to reject the idea that anyone at all must work to "earn" the right to eat and live.
The people who need help are not the problem. It’s corporate greed. It’s an unwillingness to pay a living wage.

The ones who aren’t working are children, the disabled, elderly & unpaid caregivers. They’re people who can’t work through no fault of their own.

No one "deserves" to starve:
No One "Deserves" to Starve
SNAP funding is set to expire at the end of the month, meaning 42 million Americans will go hungry. A large percentage of those on SNAP are disabled, and many won't be able to stand in a bread line.

I really want cis folks to understand the situation - trans women face widespread employment discrimination and live in devastating poverty.

Meanwhile, the woman who came in fifth place in a swimming competition, ONCE, makes a million+ a year to advocate for destroying our rights.
If Riley's doing speeches 40 times a year, assuming breaks, she'd be making between $600,000 and $999,960 a year pre-tax. She's a fucking millionaire who has made her entire career of harassing a singular trans woman into exile. I legit thought Lia Thomas was dead until she did a recent interview.

[trying to explain how bad the ai bubble is] last year my cousins, siblings, and i were included on an email from my retired investment banker uncle warning the family about it! do you have any idea how bad things have to be for a wealthy boomer to temporarily treat millennials like adults?!
Every time I'm exposed to What Normies Think Is Important Or Good I feel like rendering my own flesh into an organic slurry to avoid doing any more of that.

Just a little peek in the Ark of the Covenant. I'm sure it'll be comfy in this bucket here.

LMAO. It's basically the one legit use of social media, aside from sharing unhinged smut. ^_^
Doing biggish classes at a dungeon and getting a situation organized wherein someone you trust will have you over once a week for a few hours are real different animals. You grow real quick like that, although I s'pose that's always been my preferred learning mode. :)
ooOOooh, that's an excellent combo. :9 Done a fair amount of it with my partners here and, uh, recommend.

It's pretty cheap to start doing, and a lot of places will have some 101 courses and such, but I really recommend finding a teacher that does tiny or personal classes.
Ah! It's so much fun!

Y'gotta find a teacher in your area, shibari is -amazing- and working on it 'til its precepts live in your bones more than your head is The Good Shit. Once you start understanding what ropes are telling you, it's over, you'll never not be a rigger again. <3
You're as much an artist now as you ever were and more. All our experiences - good or ill - contribute to our aesthetic and taste and the things we want to make.

You do amazing work. I'm sure I'll see it again. If I don't, that's okay, -and- it still doesn't make you any less of an artist. <3
