I am furious and devastated that ICE was once again present in Saint Paul and that federal agents continue to jeopardize the safety and well-being of our residents. The destruction this White House has caused our city in just a matter of days is unconscionable.

Also to situate this in context, a bookstore selling more than 20 copies of my last book means they want to host an event with me for my next one. Each book purchase is hugely influential. If you can give the gift of books this season, do it please.

I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

Books don't sell nearly as many copies as you think they do. Every sale has significance. This is especially true of preorders and first week of publication orders. These move mountains for authors.

To combat bird flu spread, other countries have authorized poultry vaccines. The U.S. hasn’t, amid political and economic pushback.

Without a vaccine, experts say the virus poses an escalating threat: “The minute it transmits to humans, it’s done.”

just one more data point for "David Ellison is going to run Paramount right into the fucking ground"
Rush Hour 4 is reportedly a go at Paramount – after Trump intervened on behalf of the movie.

I like technology, generally. Young adulthood was when the World Wide Web was in its infancy. Saw the cellular and smartphone techs evolve significantly. But I'm so annoyed with today's enshittification that I just bought an 8-year-old laptop that's too old to run Windows 11+AI. 😂
