Another Dwyer improv sesh, Endless Garbage also has Greg Coates, but this time with Ted Byrnes, Brad Caulkin, & Tom Dolas, allegedly the first time these folks ever jammed together. Jittery, percussive, angular wackiness (complimentary.

One of Osees front man John Dwyer’s improvised jazz-ish side projects featuring Ryan Sawyer, Greg Coates, Wilder Zoby, & Andres Renteria. Freaky fried grooves on JD’s Castle Face label.

Disgusting. You engaged in political gamesmanship using them as pawns knowing they would get harmed and now you question *their* patriotism because some of them aren't wealthy like you and didn't want to work a high stress job for no pay?

On the outer fringes of free jazz sits this intimate collection from a simple Sun Ra quintet featuring John Gilmore, Marshall Allen, Art Jenkins & Ali Hasaan that follows the Strange Strings strategy of improving on unfamiliar instruments. Mind-opening percussion-heavy exploration.

Hot sesh from ‘69 from Don Cherry & George Gruntz and a host of heavy hitters like Sahib Shihab, Henry Texier and Eberhard Weber. Alongside traditional North African instruments from native players, it’s a fiery blend of African jazz and free expression.

Slept on this one when it came out last year but have since remedied that. Mountain Movers were never really my jam, but Walking After Dark clicked for me. Dark, groovy, expansive and all within a rock record. One of many dozen Trouble In Mind albums that will stand the test of time.

Y’all like ambient pedal steel?!
✨ Out today!

Proud to present To Heart, To Earth, the new full-length from The Far Sound, the solo project of pedal steel visionary Rick Pedrosa (Abronia, Federale, Jeffrey Silverstein, Rose City Band).

A cinematic and exploratory journey of sound and spirit.

The State of Wisconsin pays our governor $165,568 a year, and he's constitutionally ineligible for a raise while in office.

By comparison we paid Luke Fickell $7,825,000 inclusive of salary and bonuses to coach the UW Madison football team to a 5-7 record last year.

Wickedly under appreciated album from guitarist Steve Palmer. Useful Histories is one man’s sonic journey, a ship drifting in an ocean of psych, kraut, and experimental Americana; passively contemplative yet steadfast in its course. From Sunrise Ocean Bender & Deep Water Acres.

It's worth emphasizing how cowardly these thugs are. It's unprofessional and shitty to escalate a situation and start a fight, but these aren't even fights—if anyone fights back they're facing federal felony charges— it's just beating up totally defenseless people.
Excessive force. PERIOD!

They called them “violent mobs,” but the violence came from the guys with badges and body armor.

"'They’re spending more money than I would even tax them,' [Mamdani] said in an interview with MSNBC last week."

This is the message. Make it clear that these billionaires aren't just worried about losing money. They're worried about losing the ability to exchange their money for power.

Spiritual Unity, Albert Ayler knows. I think might’ve been the first non Sun Ra jazz record I bought. I’d say it was good instinct, but I’m pretty sure it was the cover & title.

Louisiana — the red state that Mike Johnson nominally represents — has the second highest percentage of residents enrolled in SNAP in the nation.

They’re pushing this fantasy about these being “Democrat programs” used only in blue states but that’s a PR fantasy divorced from reality.
Mike Johnson: "These blue states have abused the SNAP program just like they've abused Medicaid and so many other government programs."
