I agree that it’s a great newspaper. My favorite. The cost to access all content, digitally….. is SUBSTANTIALLY more than any other news source. Not even close to being affordable or justifiable for me. A news source for the rich in my opinion which is sad
bmgall.bsky.social
Paying a substantial amount to be a “standard subscriber” and not having access to all of the content unless paying much more to “upgrade to premium” is a terrible business model and why I cancelled FT. Sorry

… and the response? Genocide

Just when I want to subscribe to The Atlantic, I find out that senior staff writer David Frum has been writing speeches for the Israeli government and Eliot Cohen writes garbage like this:

Trump understood the fundamental realities of the war in Gaza in a way that “the posturing leaders of many other countries did not,” @eliotacohen.bsky.social argues. If he pulls off a peace deal, “he will deserve that gala night in Oslo.”
Trump’s Great Achievement
If the president succeeds in ending the Gaza war, he will deserve a gala night in Oslo.

Absolutely my favorite cuisine. Ethiopian food is amazing!!

If Frum is not immediately fired by @jeffreygoldberg.bsky.social @theatlantic.com …… it tells you all you need to know about The Atlantic

Son of a bitch.

David Frum should be fired from The Atlantic immediately

According to hacked emails obtained by @dropsitenews.com, 'journalist' Douglas Murray was allegedly writing secret draft speeches for the Israeli ambassador to the UN while also pretending to be an independent 'journalist'.

FWIW, I read the Globe on the digital app AND sometimes the ePaper. Always see the byline

"None — repeat none — of America’s fentanyl has been found to originate from Venezuela. Yet Trump and Pete Hegseth, his compulsively strutting “secretary of war”, insist that the country is fuelling America’s opioid epidemic." Me on Trump's wag the dog script. www.ft.com/content/5b3e...
Venezuela is Trump’s useful enemy
Despite the president’s claims, the South American country is nowhere close to being the US’s biggest drug supplier

Folks had no idea who owns their local TV stations - until large, faceless corporations, Sinclair and Nexstar, said they can't watch Jimmy Kimmel because of politics

This is why they've been warning us: media consolidation is a threat to democracy. My new column www.inquirer.com/opinion/jimm...
Kimmel blackout is what happens when your TV isn’t locally sourced
When most Americans weren't looking, a handful of companies seized control over what you see on your local TV channels.

My experience is the opposite. After using the reMarkable for a couple of years I now know where every note and every project are; can search them by tags, transcribe to text if needed, and share seamlessly. And no longer have paper notebooks everywhere
bmgall.bsky.social
Based on my experiences I disagree. I also tried both and the writing experience, user-friendly features, design, and functionality of the reMarkable were vastly superior for me

Pa.'s 2 senators, including alleged Dem Fetterman, picked the wrong week to tell Americans not to talk about fascism, Hitler

The shredding of the 1st Amendment that led to gov't coercion to silence Jimmy Kimmel is fast becoming our own Reichstag fire

My new column www.inquirer.com/opinion/jimm...
Kimmel yanked: Sen. Fetterman, can we call it ‘fascism’ yet? | Will Bunch
Trump regime shredded the First Amendment in forcing Jimmy Kimmel's off the air. Our 'leaders' still don't get it.

It led to the pathetic Washington Post to fire a wonderful journalist in Karen Attiah. So, it sure can be

The Washington Post was the paper of my teen dreams -- whose courage helped convince me to chose a life in journalism. Monday's firing of the Post's moral beacon, Karen Attiah, proved that a newsroom I'd believed in is now dead to me

Why I finally ditched the Post www.inquirer.com/columnists/a...

Agreed, but The Sting is right up there too!

I hung in there with the Post as long as possible. The cowardly firing of Karen Attiah was the final straw. I’m done. Bezos and Will Lewis destroyed the once proud news organization. Pathetic

Here’s a good NYT column that puts this issue in perspective for me
