we actually have a solid understanding of what the athletic advantages are, and just about every sporting organization developed guidelines to manage them. these laws endrun around those guidelines in order to institute a discriminatory categorical ban.

the question to ask about this is, okay, he wants to cancel the midterms. how does he get the VA state board of elections to cancel the midterms? how does he get the georgia board of elections to do it? how does he convince republican house members to quit their jobs and give up their paychecks?
Trump says a lot of deranged shit, but, per this Reuters article — and the threats of invoking the Insurrection Act in Minnesota this morning — he is very clearly exploring how to cancel the midterms.

One of my most old-man takes is that I think creators should just put movies/albums/art into the world and not try to make everything into a riddle to solve.
Actually I'm pretty sure they're teaser trailers

This is an important distinction, and it's one I wish people would make more often. There are good, ethical and productive ways to use AI in ways that don't make new, bad products out of thin air.

If we discussed AI as a productivity tool more generally, I think people would be less scared of it.
Seems to me there is a huge distinction between AI applications that are basically working towards full natural lanugage programming, task management etc and AI applications to *make new stuff*. The former seems both more promising as an actual useful tech and also way way less ethically dubious

When people hear about AI in journalism, they usually assume we’re just writing stories with ChatGPT. Nah. I’ve found incredible stuff buried in 400-page document dumps and crunched datasets I never would’ve touched otherwise — these are things I can verify, and which enable better reporting.

Today is a watershed moment for women’s sports. The Supreme Court is hearing arguments relating to how Title IX will be enforced going forward.

Title IX was created to expand, not exclude. It ensured that everyone could participate, and promised to protect opportunity, access and dignity for all. 👇🏻

After games, I want sideline reporters to show the winning QB a key play on their monitor and let the QB talk us through it, like golfers do after a round.

That was a good spot for it. Show Allen the big pass to Cooks. Let him talk about it. You could actually get stuff.

This is stunning. Listen to this in Philadelphia.

Thousands singing “Hey-Oh, we won’t be silent while our friends are gunned down.”

Really listen to it.

Best TikTok thing going is the two dudes trying food from every country without leaving NYC. If you haven’t seen them yet, it’s incredible. My favorite so far is last week’s. Legit got me emotional.
