NEW: Pentagon officials are forcing staff to watch Pete Hegseth's "Warrior" speech he forced generals to listen to.

Officials are even "testing" staff to see if they watched — and are threatening consequences if they lie about watching it or if they mock it, sources tell @swin24.bsky.social and I.
The Pentagon Is Ordering Staff to Watch Hegseth’s ‘MAGA Garbage’ Speech… Or Else
Defense Department sources tell Zeteo that staff have been warned that if they don’t watch or read the speech, or if they speak negatively of it, they could face severe consequences.

BRING YOUR KIDS to #NoKings on Saturday. This will be my 11-year-old’s third protest of the year.

Kids can’t vote and lack $$ to donate.

But they can stand and march and shout and sing. And they’ll remember — after we’re gone — how we taught them what we value. 🇺🇸🚫👑

Authoritarianism is a cancer. And it's growing, metastasizing. In America. Now.

YOU are the cure. Do your part and join us on Saturday.

Do it for your country. For the Constitution. For your freedoms.

While you still can.

In Trump’s regime you will be denied a visa if you criticize his favourite dead podcaster Charlie Kirk.

Some other countries with similar rules are North Korea, Iran, Cuba, Saudi Arabia and Russia.

Trump's mechanism to pay the troops during the shutdown is by far the most illegal budgetary action he's taken as POTUS, potentially setting the stage to break everything.

It's also needless because Congress would easily pass a troop pay bill if Johnson were willing to gavel in.

Long thread.

holy fuck, Donny gave a batshit speech at Charlie Kirk's memorial where, I shit you not, at one point he bragged about being better at not getting killed. who does that? a moron, that's who. thank you for your attention to my post in which in take this dipshit to task. link is here: bit.ly/3Ld5dEM
now, did you have ‘I’m better at ducking bullets than Charlie Kirk’ on your bingo card? congratulations, you’re our winner!

all perfectly normal stuff. who among us hasn’t spoken at a memorial and bragged about not getting murdered? who among us hasn’t then gone on to talk about ourselves some more?

that’s what Bullet Duckin’ Donny did through the whole thing. he told one insane “anecdote” after another about himself, occasionally punctuating it with something like ‘and Charlie thought that was awesome.’ you know, just to keep things topical.

but again, it’s all perfectly normal stuff. who among us hasn’t used the commemoration of a dear friend’s life to brag about how you single-handedly saved Los Angeles?

I liken JD Vance to an artificial creation. Nothing about him is anchored in genuineness or truth. At least Trump has fears and id and cravings.

JD Vance is a pod.

Democratic officials in the House gathered loudly in front of Speaker Johnson’s office, carrying Epstein-adorned papers. Some of them even covered up Johnson's own sign with Epstein-related ones. They did it while chanting "Swear Her In," for new Rep. Adelita Grijalva.
Fox covered it. Good one.

For over a century, major companies liquidated forests from First Nations’ territories without consent. Now they're leaving.

In their wake, First Nations are working to reshape the industry that long excluded them, but it won't be easy.

More First Nations are buying B.C. forestry tenures. With old growth dwindling, can they nudge the industry to a more sustainable future?

The plaque honoring the law enforcement officers who responded to the January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, which was commissioned by Congress in 2022, remains in storage. Mike Johnson has refused to place it on the wall, as was intended. That "deed" speaks pretty loudly.

Mike Johnson called us back from July 4 recess on 7/3 so he could gut Americans’ healthcare in the Big Ugly bill. Since then, he has only had the House in session for 19 of the subsequent 104 days. That’s how we ended up here.

Two months ago, U.S. Border Patrol posted a hype video, featuring the “banned” version of Michael Jackson’s 1995 song “They Don’t Care About Us,” including its infamous antisemitic slurs.

While Border Patrol remained silent, antisemitic accounts on Twitter celebrated the government’s post.
Border Patrol won’t say why it used a Michael Jackson song with antisemitic lyrics
