It’s our 8th Birthday on 26th October! We’ve got a little get together happening on the day, including a member flying in from Canada especially! We’d love to see you for letter writing, tea and cake! If that’s impossible do write a letter on the day to help celebrate! #THLAS8 🥳

About a decade ago I told my mum I'd found & ordered a copy online of my most fondly-remembered book from my childhood, Usborne's "Stories for Young Children", she went to a box in the spare room and said "You mean this one?".

So now I have two copies! 😁

(And I discovered the original was a gift!)
A photo of my hand, holding up two different editions of the Usborne "Stories for Young Children", illustrated by Stephen Cartwright, who's work to me is iconic of Usborne's whole brand.

The covers of each are different illustrations by Cartwright, featuring a medley of Dragons, Giants, Witches, Wizards, Princes & Princesses, and Gnomes, Goblins & Fairies.

The book is a compendium of the Usborne "Stories of..." those subjects respectively. A close-up of the inside front-cover of my childhood copy of Usborne's Stories for Young Children, which reveals an inscription from my aunt, which reads:

"To Brian, With lots of love from Auntie Anne, Uncle Mike, Michael, Katie and John Paul."

Parts of Pontefract are like stepping back into Georgian or Regency Britain. You almost expect a coach to pull up outside and the passengers go into an inn for dinner. The Grade II listed Red Lion was remodelled in 1776 by Robert Adam for Sir Rowland Winn of Nostell Priory.

Why does Amazon think it is acceptable to sell merchandise that includes hate slurs and constructs people with #dwarfism as a novelty? Would any other #disability or #racial slur be acceptable?

It’s totally confusing for the general public & when I went for mine I heard many people being surprised they were not eligible for Covid vaccination but were for ‘flu. Worryingly some chat was about whether they’d bother again & did they really need any then? Especially when queuing for an hour!
