It doesn't help that I had covid during Philly Fringe and wasn't able to see my friends' shows. I was really looking forward to supporting them and enjoying some stellar theatre, but I ended up with FOMO instead. I think I really need to practice some acceptance around not doing theatre right now

I also think my flavor of gifted kid syndrome is cringe. I got a lot of accolades for my work in 2020 and 2021, including a pretty big award, and I think it went to my head. No one likes an artist who feels entitled to success and awards. I certainly don't like that side of myself!

I think it's quite common for artists to study their craft in undergrad and then end up not working in that field. It just hurts. I know I'm really good at performing, directing, and writing for theatre. I just have no outlet for those skills right now, and I wish that didn't manifest as envy

I don't like how much envy I feel towards my peers who are able to work in theatre. I want to simply be happy for my friends, but instead, I am both happy and envious/sad. My job currently precludes me from any kind of rehearsal schedule, and I feel "set back" by what I went through in 2022-2023

I did know this! Tbh I am not optimistic. I fully believe in the fans' commitment; I just think Amazon and its ilk are huge, uncaring corporations that don't listen to fans
