They’re simultaneously arguing that soldiers have to follow all orders from the president, legal or not, but they get to ignore orders from a federal judge if they feel they’re not legal.

"let's fix it"
not saying it's great, but took me 15 seconds and it's definitely better
No value, no villain, no vision. Sounds like the tagline for the earnings call of a collapsing appliance retailer

You’ve heard it a million times growing up; don’t play with matches. Well folks, the Calcu-Lighter ain’t no match.

we are about to have a real mayor for the first time in my quarter century plus here
Soon small businesses won’t have to wait for Small Business Saturday to get attention from their Mayor.

Some changes that they can look forward to:

Years ago, my colleagues at Business Insider and I tracked YouTuber “cancellation” arcs. What we found is that for many entertainers, “cancellation” actually sets the stage for a redemption arc, one that can raise their profile higher than ever. It wasn’t career-ending. It was fuel.

his return material sucks in a self pity party way and his fucking novel is about a character in a culture and place he did zero research for and reads like it
When a cancelled performer reënters the culture, we expect them to offer us a great work, channelling their newfound clarity into the finest art they’ve ever made. With his new comedy show and début novel, has Louis C.K. met the bar?

Louis C.K.’s Next Chapter
In a new standup special, and a début novel, the comedian navigates murky, post-#MeToo terrain: not quite exiled, not quite welcomed back.

Federal immigration enforcement officials called off a planned raid on Canal Street today shortly before it was slated to begin.

New Yorkers who heard about the raid showed up at the garage where the feds had gathered, and as federal agents tried to leave, the NYPD cleared the way for them.

this thread is going to stay with me in a bad way. we all feel the forces at play here, but some of us have decades of life prior to buoy our capacities
An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.
