Doing stuff in space has always paid off in technical developments for doing stuff on earth. Space science is cool and good and necessary. None of that money is wasted in any way that matters bc money isn’t real and social dynamics inform who gets money on earth, not how much money there is.

This sort of thing is the kind of corporate art industry that AI is gonna destroy first, precisely because it /is/ expensive to produce advertising that requires any kind of craft and it /does not/ clearly produce higher profits. This isn't art that anyone cares about but it keeps artists paid.
I live in LA so I see so much dumb shit that looks expensive but cannot possibly lead to more customers buying the final product.
How exactly is this gonna get more people to see the new Spongebob in a way a trailer or billboard can't?

but also, lol fromsoft's aesthetic has been ripped to hell, it's in everything from code:vein to penance to lords of the fallen to hollow knight don't just namedrop them because you like dark souls.
I know it's hard to make character designs that are genuinely surprising, but there's very very little in the way of anything interesting, especially in the AAA market. With the exception of Fromsoft and a handful of others, it's all so homogeneous.

tga represents a particular slice of the industry that definitely considers itself to be "gaming" writ large (and the show is "the game awards") but it's actually just like a bunch of largely western developers putting out big budget games in 3rd person action or shooter genres.
I'm sorry, but the majority of character design in gaming is horrendously boring.
