Tried my hand at making a quiche Lorraine today - is this the sign to abandon it all and setup a bakery cafe?

I, however,
Have such meagre power,

Clutching at a
Moment,

While you control
An hour.

But your hour is
A stone.

My moment is
A flower.

#everynightapoem As ever.
I have done so little
For you.
And you have do little
For me.
That we have good reason
Never to agree.

Have such meagre power,
Clutching at a

While you control
An hour.
But your hour is

My moment is

FYI - we're going through holiday pages NOW, since we're going to be filming this episode at the end of October. So if you were planning to submit a page, now's the time!

(Still plenty of time to get non-holiday pages in)

This post has ripped me back to my International Baccalaureate Philosophy oral exam on Baudrillard. Time to revisit his work.

Bottom-line : this is basically doable and consequently the Russian taxpayer may soon be paying the costs of Western military support to Ukraine

Belgium has laid out its red lines for using Russian assets to fund a €140 billion reparations loan to Ukraine.

This includes an agreement by EU countries to share all current and future risks related to the plan for an amount exceeding €170 billion.

It so self-destructive. If your 90-100 minute piece of AI slop that people have to pay to see is creatively the same as the 1 minute slop that's free on TikTok, why would they watch you? A race to the bottom.

Thankful for my Italian local being open until 2AM. Sometimes you just need a pint on the dot of midnight.

More and more my respect is reserved for people writing (poetry, short form, novels, essays, comics etc). Something about the Film/TV world warps minds. It's like the actors shilling NFTs a few years ago. But 10x as dumb and cynical.

Maybe that's the line they're contracted by OpenAI to write...

I imagine they've been spending this time shredding every single Epstein document.

Whenever I see this I wonder how they blew their cash. Like the string of celebs with alimony who shilled for NFTs and Crypto.

Chatbots and AI slop are going to ruin countless brains. Yours doesn't have to be one of them. Study history. Read poetry. Get acquainted with Bach, Shakespeare, George Eliot. In a time when people are rapidly getting dumber, we need communities devoted to the life of the mind.

Jason Blum's take on AI sucks. an AI takeover isn't inevitable, and treating it as such (while also referring to filmmaking as "content creation," smdh) helps AI companies promote the lie that their deeply unprofitable, destructive tech is more powerful and useful than it actually is.

Author and filmmaker Justine Bateman on generative AI
"They're trying to convince people they can't do the things they've been doing easily for years - to write emails, to write a presentation. Your daughter wants you to make up a bedtime story about puppies - to write that for you." We will get to the point, she says with a grim laugh, "that you will essentially become just a skin bag of organs and bones, nothing else. You won't know anything and you will be told repeatedly that you can't do it, which is the opposite of what life has to offer. Capitulating all kinds of decisions like where to go on vacation, what to wear today, who to date, what to eat.
People are already doing this. You won't have to process grief, because you'll have uploaded photos and voice messages from your mother who just died, and then she can talk to you via AI video call every day. One of the ways it's going to destroy humans, long before there's a nuclear disaster, is going to be the emotional hollowing-out of people." - author and filmmaker Justine Bateman from a piece by Emine Saner for the Guardian
