2 to 3 Cups of Coffee a Day May Reduce Dementia Risk. But Not if It’s Decaf.
One to two cups of caffeinated tea per day helps too, researchers found after following nearly 132,000 people for 40 years.

Cafes across the U.S. are embracing the low- and no-caffeine lifestyle, with options that are a far cry from dusty tea bags and rewarmed decaf. nyti.ms/3XKlqoj

In complex systems work, evaluation supports learning and adaptation as change unfolds, not just end-point judgement. I reflect on five recurring patterns in complexity-aware MEL and what this means for evaluator roles in practice. 🌍🧪

Please correct this headline @apnews.com. All humans are primates. That’s a biology.

What Trump posted was a depiction of the first Black U.S. president and First Lady as chimpanzees. That’s racist.

Great pleasure to present ongoing work from CircSyst project on "Unpacking sustainable path development" at GeoInno2026 in Budapest. @philste.bsky.social and I mobilise project cases to argue for a more nuanced perspective and explicit recognition of the environment in path dev studies.

Generalize your skeets. What's your most typical, most average skeet?

Here is something clever that somebody else wrote.
Generalize your skeets. What's your most typical, most average skeet?

Food systems account for 1/3 of global GHG emissions, but way fewer than 1/3 of climate posts are about food. So, here is yet another silly post from me about food and climate trying to correct that balance.

Here's some data showing solar power is doing well. Obviously this doesn't mean solar power is the whole solution to climate change on its own.

Aber: Wünsche ändern sich -- and that's okay! #IchBinHanna

This is absolutely true - so true I feel it in my bones - and it requires a very different academia than the one we have. We need transformative changes, from internal and external rewards systems to engagement with communities, decision-makers, the private sector etc. and of course teaching.
You cannot separate out climate from the rest of society and social issues. You cannot separate out climate from the rest of society and social issues. You cannot separate out climate from the rest of society and social issues.

Since it is the season for revision requests with absurd deadlines such as 1st January 2026 for a major revision. To anyone who needs to hear this: That is the submission system. It is PERFECTLY FINE to ask politely for an extension of the deadline.

My wonderful colleague Marie Oltmer from Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg and I were curious how issues such as insect protection "become a thing" and which actors play what role in this. So we set out to explore this.

Also, don't engage in rewriting. If something is unclear, that's all they need to know. It's their job to make it clearer.
PRO TIP from someone who has peer reviewed A LOT and submitted papers A LOT lately: your review shouldn’t be so long and nit picky that it’s basically a nightmare for the authors to address your comments.

Reviews should be feasible and constructive.
