Tell me your bagel order and I will tell you *based on NYC cultural expectations* if you have won or lost your election for political office in NYC.
erinbiba.bsky.social
One of my favorite things about NYC is whenever anyone runs for office here they are required to disclose their bagel order.

Why have studies when we can listen to Richmond Row businesses blather on about how we are exceptionally built for cars?

Every Study Ever:
Reliable transit, safe active transportation options and fewer cars will improve cities.
London Ontario:
Hmm, can we really trust every study ever done?

LABOUR: The Tories have set a CUNNING TRAP!

-oh really?

LABOUR: They have proposed SOMETHING AWFUL, and if we say "that sounds awful," they will CRITICIZE US.

-huh.

LABOUR: BUT! We are much too clever for to fall for that.

-huh?

LABOUR: Instead of OPPOSING the awful thing, we will SUPPORT it.

Saw this as a Starbucks barista, working the drive thru. I can’t articulately explain it, but people conducted themselves differently ordering in the cafe than at the drive-thru.

People felt they could rule by fiat being in a car, and it felt like an in-person version of being a keyboard warrior

when people are in cars they arent in society

Watching antisocial driver behavior in the school drop-off line makes it really clear that the pandemic destroyed whatever few shreds remained of the social compact, just pathological selfishness on display every day

One of the earlier US presidents, John Tyler, had a grandson that died in 2025.

Also, Louis St-Laurent lived during the lifespan of every Canadian Prime Minister

Still think about the time when Chief Justice Wagner was briefly the Administrator of Canada in between Payette’s and Simon’s terms of Governor General.

French PM Lecornu resigning after 13 hours now makes the Lecornu the shortest length to measure political time. For those of you using old measures this is 1/18 of a Scaramucci or about 1.2% of a Truss

Yeah, it’s very unsettling to have it happen. and how you react unfortunately puts your safety and other things into consideration. Here for you if you need anything

Oooh that’s a good way to put it: “the economy rewards ownership over work”.
cargobikeben.bsky.social
You can’t fix living standards while the economy rewards ownership over work. Until we rebuild housing and transport around people instead of assets, the cost-of-living crisis will never end.
cedricrichards.bsky.social
omg I’m so sorry, I unfortunately know what that feels like

The fervor of her fanbase is so irritating. “Tie your identity to your favourite singer, and criticism automatically means misogyny”
