The weirdest part of “when did Green Day get so political?!” is that yeah they’ve always been political but also there hasn’t really been a time when the veneer of what they were marketed as could be misinterpreted as sheer pop, like they got close and absolutely became stadium rock for a while but

I think the weirdness of the woman who made the AI books brought to light the sense of unhealthy competition in the art space, that of “this deserves more respect because it does (thing)” and while a lot of stuff like that is healthy and helps growth, there’s an undercurrent of stuff that isn’t
