Flyers down 2-0 after 40 minutes. All 5-on-5 play in this one, zero power plays. Flyers created a bit more in the 2nd period and weren't so dump-and-chase heavy, but still only had a couple truly dangerous chances.

Flyers finally start creating some buzz in the offensive zone. So of course, Tampa goes right back down the ice afterwards and scores. 2-0 Lightning.

The seas just parted there for Jamie Drysdale, can't believe the Lightning let him skate the puck that far deep into the slot. Probably the Flyers' best chance of the game.

Travis Konecny has had such a weird year, because he certainly doesn't LOOK like he's playing his best hockey... but he does have 17 points in 20 games, which is pretty close to what you reasonably expect from him.

Flyers had 29 zone entries at 5-on-5 in the first period.
22 of them were dump-ins.
And to my eyes, that didn't look like an intentional strategy. Just a product of Tampa's extremely tight gaps. Flyers need to find a way through their neutral zone checking in the 2nd and 3rd.

Tampa takes the lead 1-0. Point shot, Ersson was clearly screened and it looks like Hagel got a deflection in front too. Andrae couldn't move him from the front of the net.

There really hasn't been a ton to break down yet in this game. Lightning have gotten the better of play and more dangerous chances, Sam Ersson has been pretty sharp thus far.

Deslaurers vs. Douglas fight. Deslauriers struggled with Douglas' reach for a while, but eventually, it looked like Deslauriers caught him with one and wrestled him to the ground. Decision, Nic.

In Guelph, Jett Luchanko didn't have much in the way of quality offensive support.
That won't be a problem at his new club, the juggernaut Brantford Bulldogs.

DeVonta Smith just rules, man. I hope the Eagles and AJ can figure out their shit, but one of the few positives if there is a breakup over the next couple years is that DeVonta will get to be the unquestioned No. 1 and receive the national attention his talent warrants

Yeah, Patullo deserves significant criticism this season, but he's not to blame for the o-line's regression (likely in part due to injuries). That's just an unfortunate reality.
Eagles run blocking is the absolute achilles heel right now. Man it is not good.

No he didn't. Go back and rewatch. The first Foerster goal did go through the defender's legs, and wasn't a weak goal. The second one was an absolute joke of a goal though, which is the one I was referring to.
