John Roberts’ Constitution: The federal government protecting people’s right to vote or giving them health care violates the sacred principle of state sovereignty but if the deranged POTUS and his bloodthirsty advisers want to use the military to invade other states for being too liberal that’s fine
If *OBAMA*care premiums suddenly hit $1100 a month and the GOP goes all in on pinning it on a bill Biden passed there's no chance in hell you'll successfully pin it on Trump with the kind of voters you NEED to see what Trump is doing to them
It. Just. Won't. Happen. Truth won't matter at that point
I could see that and wouldn't argue hard. But the '08 primary may have been the best ever in terms of strategy, tactics and execution and there essentially wasn't one in '12....so '12 starts out way behind.
Also, at the time I think the feeling was that any *white* Dem could win, but......
I mean, it seems to me that the sum total of what they ran on DID work....as attested by the clear differences between the places where they ran and everywhere else. How you tease out the efficacy of individual messages from that is beyond my pay grade.
@sarahtaber.bsky.social fyi, (because I can't dm you and I thought you should know).....I posted a screenshot of your excellent soybean/Civil War/cotton min thread in reply to a comment over at The Bad Place and..... it's getting a little bit of traction. Just thought you should know.
If they 'lose' the shutdown there will be MASSIVE increases in premiums for tens of millions in January and Dems will have forced GOP to very publicly and loudly OWN them
So, they either get some much needed policy wins and help millions of people or they get a big political win for midterms
