relaxed saturday evening reading through "women designers of book plates (1902)" and flipped past a couple of beautiful professional designs only to see this perfect plate by a young Miss Page

9. A graveside figurine from the White Barrows of Pterophore. These small figurines were placed beside the extensive collection of canopic jars within the Barrows. Each figurine held a tool for cleaning and maintaining the jars, from simple items such as this brush, to complex titration devices. Look at the soft bristles of the brush. What do you think they feel like? Where do you think the hairs came from?

10. This reliquary idol is made from the skin, hair and teeth of over thirty
different creatures, glued and sewn onto a wooden frame. Though the
provenance of the idol is not known, it was found with a set of tools to
maintain and add to the hair, and inscriptions on the brush handles suggest that the hair was taken from deceased people and given to the idol to stengthen it for some unknown purpose. How many different colours of hair can you see on the figure? Does any of it look like your hair? What do you think your hair would look like after a hundred years in the dark?

Hen and Wren.
Ink and gouache on Fabriano Medioevalis, approximately 95 × 64 mm.

Drawing in black ink, primarily in silhouette, of a hen and a Wren regarding each other quizzically. The hen stands in a patch of wild grasses whilst the wren perches on a small, leafless shrub in front of her. The hen's comb and wattle are the only touch of red gouache. The drawing is finely wrought and intricate. The piece is roughly the size of a business card.

The style is unmistakable: satellite zoom-ins, black & white wireframes, and red-textured houses - a new visual language of war.Our analysis of 43 official IDF videos found recycled 3D environments, spatial inaccuracies, and assets lifted from unrelated artists and institutions.We traced over 30 unique assets to Washington-based 3D creator Ian Hubert, who makes bespoke models created for his sci-fi project Dynamo Dream, available to his Patreon subscribers.

Models of parking lots, antennas, + pipes were repurposed as Hamas and Iranian military sites

Fascinating work here tracing how the IDF recycled 3D assets from a cyberpunk sci-fi art project, the Scottish Maritime Museum and elsewhere to populate its widely-seen models of supposed enemy locations in Gaza, Lebanon and Iran. One of the most infamous, the alleged underground Hamas command center at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, used to justify an unprecedented assault on the biggest medical center in Gaza, was actually an animation the IDF had used the previous year, saying at the time it was a tunnel beneath a UN school.
