No yelling but as Black man with a wife & kids living in Canada "Twitter may be horrible, but it's still shaping policy" I can assure you 110% the anti-Black / anti-Indigenous racism that is celebrated there has no relevance to shaping any policy period. We as a society do better without it. Cheers!

In the 1980s and 1990s, I thought I liked Woody Allen movies, but one day I realized what I liked was Mia Farrow and Diane Keaton, old jazz and the cinematography of Gordon Willis. Absent one or more of those things, I really don’t care for Woody Allen movies.

Sometimes we need a moment, but if you tune out completely, they win. Fascism doesn’t need your support, just your silence.

My hot take is that Martin Short as a small child is less distracting than Hollywood leading men 50+ years old constantly getting a 20-something love interest 🐸☕️

There was something so magical about the barely-contained resentment that you saw on Charles Grodin's face throughout Clifford.

Say whatever you will about the movie, but Charles Grodin had to have come close to throwing his back out from giving that bizarre quirk of a film everything that he had.

It’s funny when people refer to winter cycling as “biking in the snow”. There should not be more than trace amounts of snow if you adequately plow and maintain the bike path.

Staring helplessly at the US, and hugging my kids and all their trans friends. My home is known as the “safe house” but apparently my snacks are crappy. Will buy better snacks this week - little things are still acts of resistance and revolution. #protecttranskids

Always happy for a chance to say: I read every real study on the impact of bike lanes on street-level retail. They never hurt. They often help. Sometimes they help a lot:

This is a subtweet but please don't go looking.

Horror is OFTEN about marginalized experiences. The terrible thing you're up against has been a metaphor for real shit you have to deal with since a bunch of anonymous housewives were telling ghost stories (about patriarchal abuse) in the periodicals.

In addition to "you're so entitled" I really hate how people tell bicyclists we're "overreacting" to the things that drivers do that aren't overtly hostile. I have ridden my bike long enough to know just how quickly impatience can turn into violence. I am well aware of how vulnerable I am.
