Yeah. Tolkien thought of himself as anti-racist, and compared to say Churchill - or C. S. Lewis - he was, but he still took for granted that his own people were somehow special

No literature escapes its culture. Scripture, politics, philosophy all have a taint that we can welcome as an opportunity for reflection—on the progress of humanity and our own failings that will only become more clear in time.

I know I shouldn’t expect much but… like just two months already asking me to move out when they themselves proposed to have me until December. I helped with all the chores n do as they told. I am not perfect but it felt like a betrayal
