By campaign I mean using whatever Google offers, such as feedback forms, feature requests in a Google Group group, sharing posts and threads in social media, and a change.org petition.

Google makes Gemini "available" in Gmail but it can't write messages, can't make filters, has a hands-off attitude to actually working with the email.

I just don't understand the world.

Go in the email and there's an AI writer-editor, but not in the side panel.

My free year of premium Perplexity ran out, and I didn't use it that much.

It's hard changing my ways after frequent and later constant Googling since 2008.

I still want pages of search results that my search terms, not generated answers to questions.

Open alternatives to schools and authorities? Sounds good.
Austrian watchdog rules Microsoft illegally tracked students via 365 Education, violating #GDPR. Schools & authorities blamed, but Redmond can’t dodge responsibility. Time to switch to open alternatives? https://www.theregister.com/2025/10/13/microsoft_365_education_gdpr/

Which AI "deep search"systems can handle a "Can you dig up some dirt on" request without any whining about not harming people or finding a need to make a balance answer, like "Can you did up any dirt on the Nazi tatoo guy Graham Platner?".

With the invention of time travel, we might create a new category of thing to do, retroactive suicide.

If you go back in the past and kill your past self, and your past self is dead but there's still you from the future there, can you be charged with murder, or was it suicide?

I tell Grok dot com to make images of ads that are fun, upbeat looking, and different from each other, for a product that comes in a box, called "Slow Death" with bullet points of Reduces Quality Of Life, No Compensating Benefits, And It's Pricey, and this is what I get:

Being a parent of school-aged kids in the current technology environment is insane.

There are no textbooks. There's at least three separate LIMS systems. Lunch is cashless and there's a 3rd party lunch money service.

Sad to learn that great jazz drummer Jack DeJohnette has played his last on this Earth.
So much great music he played on, including with Miles, Sonny, Sun Ra, Jarrett, Herbie, Abercrombie, and his own brilliant music as a bandleader.

Here’s a favorite track:

In retrospect, our product name "Reduces Quality Of Life With No Compensating Benefits, And It's Pricey" was perhaps not the wisest of choices.

Too upbeat.

When I get a notification about a reply on Bluesky, in a desktop browser, and click on it, the reply appears quickly enough, but the part of the thread above it appears slower, and it seems slower now than in the past, and it's not many bytes.

Seems slower than in the past. Familiar?

The video link in this image plays a link with ads that defeats the uBlock Origin extension's adblocking abilities.

Anyone know of CSS snippet for Stylish, or a JS snippet for the Tampermonkey, to hide such videos ? I keep forgetting and clicking them.

The video's are okay, but ads, ick.
