The only thing I like more than citations are detailed footnotes.

I like sharing what I'm reading.

A lot of folks have grand Little House on the Prairie dreams, and all I can tell you is their reading comprehension is garbage.

Those folks were CONSTANTLY on the verge of death! And that's the stuff Wilder and her publishers were willing to put in a bunch of kids' books!

Which is why: divest, divest, divest.
If Tesla's stock drops far enough, the bank loans Elon took out to buy Twitter lose their collateral and get called back immediately.

Which is why Elon is panicking, Trump is panicking, and their shadow backers are all panicking.

How many people who've worked with:
a) complex transactional data spread across multiple systems;
b) a startup that ingests or generates PII; or
c) CS interns and fresh grad juniors in the codebase
are also having some anxiety nightmares about govt data these days?

As a passive beneficiary of US hegemony my life will be more difficult if it ends, but we seem determined to go in that direction, so
I guess the danger for USA is the same as what happened to UK after the idiocy of Brexit; the rest of Europe adapted and moved on. UK economy still struggling and politicians of major parties afraid to admit it.

Thread. Read it, it's good, and also at the end of it the author tells you how to get the book it's from.
