I wear a lot of hats: software developer, entrepreneur, weird fiction publisher, writer, non-profit founder, election worker, local handyman, open-source creator, and Macross & X-Men fan.

I'm pleased to share that "Experimental Files" is now out on Amazon.

I had a good time working with Sarah Walker and Elizabeth Mitchell putting this together, and for being generous enough to include a longer weird tale of mine that tries to blend Lynchian themes, VR, and Victorian stereographs.

80 autistic schoolkids recreated the massive Army computer, which debuted in 1946

They talked w/ ENIAC historian Brian Stuart and worked w/ Dag Spicer of the Computer History Museum. They had "astounding access to original patent drawings, Army documentation, and detailed photographs," Burick says

@govpritzker.illinois.gov - Can we get a law like this to go with the one protecting our biometric data in Illinois?
(1/11) If you live in NY, you’ve probably started seeing a new warning: “THIS PRICE WAS SET BY AN ALGORITHM USING YOUR PERSONAL DATA.” This mandatory disclosure went into effect late last year, and it’s the first attempt by a US state to grapple with a new generation of surveillance pricing.

One the nice things about having a welder in the city is that it opens up the world of things that I can fix that would otherwise be garbage.

One of the bad things about having a welder in the city is that I don't have a good space to practice, so my welds end up looking like the garbage, instead.

Solid video for a song with one of my favorite hooks:

In the chapel of the Holy One
In the presence of the Chosen Son
I see your light shine through
In the temple of the godly scene
In the shadow of the Nazarene
I put my love in you

After reading all of these reviews for "'Wuthering Heights'", I think I'll have to revise my drinking game for the film to have any hope of appeasing my masters in the spirits industry.

New (and only) rule:

* Take a shot if a major scene happens in the film that wasn't in the novel.
An Erotically Untamed Take on 'Wuthering Heights'
A new adaptation of Emily Brontë’s novel captures the story’s grotesque beauty.

Pleased to see this make Ryuichi Sakamoto's soundtrack to "Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence", even if it's just a fragment.

Just saw that Xing Zhilei, the Chinese DIY influencer, posted an update on his self-built cat town which went viral last year.

So, my main Jellyfin server is a T2 MacBook Pro - the model where Jony Ive decided that the only ports allowed were USB-C.

Finally picked up a cheap USB-C to Ethernet adapter to speed up file transfers and save WiFi round-trip on my network.

Now, I just need to fix the video card transcoding...

What this writer is experiencing parallels other forms of addiction. This is also very similar to cult narratives, in the way their mind and life are being overwhelmed and overtaken by an outside source.

Sunday Spinning Sturgill Simpson’s Sound & Fury. Released in 2019 it was a huge departure from his country roots. It is a great album though and makes me excited for his recently announced next release under the pseudonym Johnny Blue Skies. He describes it as a dance album 😂 #nowspinning

This is slowly what I'm working toward with Home Assistant, Jellyfin, etc.

Waiting until the Claude part can run entirely locally, but this is a solid start toward toward an architecture for building these things.

Might be useful to add in a notion of "intents" here to formalize actions and perms.
