Horrific to wake to the news of antisemitic mass murder in Sydney. My heart goes out to all in the Jewish community. Nobody should live in fear because of their religion or race. It’s utterly heartbreaking.

So love wobbegongs. Everything is good about the wobbegong. Its name. Its flattened Oscar the Grouch face. Its frondy bits. Its lazy life as a hungry rug. And it’s a shark. Outstanding animal 10/10
The Tasselled Wobbegong is a master of disguise that can eat a fish almost as big as itself in one gulp. It's classified as a shark, but when it lays on the sea floor it looks like a harmless rug if you manage to see it. But with powerful jaws and sharp teeth they are no fish to mess with.

Watching #TOTP Christmas 1984. It’s tough as the songs take me back to the first Christmas without my Dad who’d died that summer, and my first away from home as we couldn’t bear to spend it there without him. A long coach ride to a hotel in Newquay. Walkman on. Music takes you back like nothing else

Utterly heartbreaking, and in my view a crime.
We claim to love animals and fill our films, TV, kids books with them, but in reality we - humans - are killing off these same creatures, causing them immense suffering in the process.
We know this and still we do nothing to change it.
So shameful.

England’s most important nature sites are being failed.❌

Protected sites can and should be driving nature’s recovery.

But today’s OEP report exposes the real problem: years of weak delivery, underfunding and political drift have left them unable to do the job the law intended.

Today, I & 36 MPs and Peers urged Defra to include a clear time-bound plan to end all confinement cages and crates in the upcoming Animal Welfare Strategy.
