Honestly, it needs to go further than this.

We need to confront the fact that democracy and wealth hoarding cannot coexist. Allowing people to amass the resources of a small state/country allows them to act as such, which is inimical to a shared society of “one person, one vote.”

the actual story here, which the media never talks about, is that police in this country have become a discrete right-wing political operation. the story isn't about cops leaving (they're lying about that), it's about the police trying to exert influence over elections.

100% agree. The people in her district are not winnable for Dems (or we wouldn’t have the delightful MTG in congress) so the cost of boosting dissent on the right that might lead to Epstein revelations or just general chaos is zero.
