Gordon Wood: "There has been talk we aren’t and shouldn’t be a creedal nation—that beliefs in a creed are too weak a basis for citizenship, and citizens with ancestors have a stronger stake than recent immigrants.

I reject this position as passionately as I can."

Jared Golden on the list, #MEPolitics.
These 20 House Democrats just joined Republicans in voting to fully repeal DC's police reform laws.

Wiping off the books critical laws on use of force, transparency, and preventing violent cops from getting rehired.

They think that they should have more say over DC police than the people of DC.

Yeah, they didn’t seem to grind DJT very small, not when he was a real estate developer, not when he encouraged an armed coup against the United States. It grinds some people small and lets others pass on through.

I am really interested to learn how, practically speaking, they plan on making the ICC indictments just go away. And if not, how Putin, readmitted to G-8 (another part of the plans) is going to travel to all those summits

Absolutely incredible; after shooting Marimar Martinez 5 times and arresting her on claims that she rammed them and pulled a gun, prosecutors have now moved to dismiss ALL criminal charges against her and her codefendant.
New: the govt has moved to dismiss its assault case against Marimar Martinez and Anthony Ian Santos Ruiz, two people accused of "box[ing] in" a Border Patrol vehicle in Chicago on Oct. 4.

One agent shot Martinez, with evidence presented to the court that he later bragged about in text messages.

Primarily just that the American Dream narrative is downstream from (predicated by) the American Experiment. There’s no such dream in the authoritarian herrenvolk regime, at least not for most people.
