My god, I just found this stunning freeform crochet blanket of British birds - every bird was created with no pattern and trial/error to get them looking right, and it's an absolute work of art 😍 I wish I had the skills, but alas, using patterns is all I'm able to do!

the eel tells heron who she is. a creature of night, she loves the reeds and sways as they do when the air above the river is warm. where you see the palm fronds, I see whales. trawlers nets. globules of white plastic, floating like fairies. glitter.
