Wynnifred is a character stuck in a paradox of being uniquely spoiled due to her being gifted in social charms & occult arts as well as profoundly neglected/abused. Laban is the clever demon she summons to obey - except he challenges her at every turn & uses their attraction/her private longing to be better & more than her upbringing to kick off her growth. He's still a demon, though, & the queer friend group (that goes full poly) gets up to all kind of mischief. They heal & soften one another.

I chose the Edwardian era for Mere Flesh because I always wanted to write a sexy period drama with the weird societal rules heightening some of the tension. I learned it was a lot of frippery to keep track of, I'll tell you that much. 💀

eyyy paperback cover. honestly obsessed with how in your face the yellow is, bring on the heat delirium.

Garner for Gold is neroli, jasmine, & something that smells expensive with a rich scent profile like frankinscence & myrrh.

Render to Silver is basil, copal, & wine. An additional whiff of candied lemon might occur.

A Song for the Road is probably straight pumpkin spice & maybe cedarwood haha
