A reminder that the Kennedy Center is the literal and legal and congressional designated presidential memorial to JFK. This would be like Trump tearing down the Lincoln Memorial to build something “better.”
He’s going to tear it down

This is very much my point, none of that is any sort of artificial intelligence and anyone who’s actually interested in it (like yourself) is going to discuss it with more specific terms like LLM.

This is a great example of why we need to stop using “AI” as a catch-all term for machine learning and algorithm execution. These items being offered as counterpoint to criticisms about generative models is an argument I see a lot but that’s like comparing a PS5 to a BMW because both have computers.

The problem isn't the technology itself. It's how we, as a society, are implementing it. Maybe you can't put the genie back in the bottle, but as with any new technology, tremendous good is at least *possible*.

Look, I’m autistic, so I get wanting more of the thing you love and being frustrated that it doesn’t exist. But this isn’t the answer.

Procedurally generated infinite games already exist and if you don’t like playing them as much as you like playing hand-crafted games, there’s a reason for that.
Google’s new world AI model tool let me generate a bunch of Nintendo-inspired games. Including one featuring Link with a paraglider! Gift link: www.theverge.com/news/869726/...

Kansas just passed a monstrous bill enabling criminal penalties and vigilante lawsuits for trans people using the bathroom according to their gender identity and requires them to surrender their current drivers licenses and birth certificates if it does not match their sex assigned at birth.

I always forget that you can just throw solid mix-ins into bread dough and it’s almost always really good.

Good afternoon from downtown Chicago, where despite heavy snowfall, thousands have gathered for an anti-ICE/CBP demonstration in solidarity with the Twin Cities. More are still streaming in.

Lt. Illinois Gov. Juliana Stratton just addressed the crowd, and called for ICE to be abolished.

Two women trained as first responders were abducted by three ICE agents. One of the agents starts seizing. The other two don’t know what to do. The women jump into action and save the agent’s life, only to be re-handcuffed and processed.

The women say they guided agents through the emergency, later raising concerns about medical protocols, weapons safety and accountability.

I think the hardest sell of the whole Christianity schtick is that an omnipotent, omniscient god would not only allow [gestures broadly] but command it? C’moooon!

Should’ve gone with, “God’s dead but he set up this set of rules for getting into heaven way before he knew how things would shake out.”

I can’t imagine any human being so lacking in greed, or altruism, that they’d turn down such a sum. You can do, kill, help, or own virtually anything in the world with that kind of money.

That level of homophobia is truly astounding.
