Friendly reminder that charter schools only exist to operate for profit and eliminate their accountability to any form of educational standards they didn’t set for themselves, while also siphoning tax revenue generated by families to rob both homeowners and their children’s future en masse.

IEP didn't help in our case, sadly, but kid is doing great as a homeschool/forest school student now! Excellent reader despite her dyslexia. So glad your kiddo is doing well now too! 🥰

Turns out there's a state law requiring our public schools to advertise their shittiness at the top of their website landing page. These schools are deliberately bad by the design of the MAGA govt of Kentucky.

I'm so sorry. I was devastated when it happened to us and I cried for a solid week. Turned out it was the best thing that could've happened in our case. We don't want our child forced to stay in an environment that oppresses her by design, but we worry about all the folks who have no alternatives

We were lucky because a friend of the family volunteered at our kid's school and happened to witness our 6yo's teacher violate ADA and abuse her in front of the whole school. We never would have known if our friend hadn't called us and said, "You should really get her out of that school."

Adding that we homeschool because our county schools cannot accommodate our dyslexic youngster--we love and value public schools. If only they were adequately funded and not hobbled by theocratic BS

There are reports that the *entire* office of special education at the US Dept of Education has been cut. These hardworking folks ensure kids with disabilities get equal access to a quality education.

America’s children deserve better than this.
