When the AI boom began, copywriters were singled out as one of the jobs most vulnerable to AI. Now, three years later, I wanted to hear from workers on the frontlines of the industry, to hear what had actually taken place on the ground.

For many, it was even worse than they'd feared.
"I was forced to use AI until the day I was laid off." Copywriters reveal how AI has decimated their industry
Copywriters were one of the first to have their jobs targeted by AI firms. These are their stories, three years into the AI era.

my dad likes to punctuate text messages with stickers he makes, it’s always exciting; you never know if you’re gonna get a terror bird or a biblical angel or a funny little guy from a Bosch painting

one of the best things I ever saw on TV was an episode of SpongeBob with no voices or music. Just sound effects. I have no idea what happened or why it was like that, but the whole episode was hilarious.
I think it was soderbergh who said that a movie should still work with the sound off and let me tell you Santa’s Slay really nailed that assignment

i went to see pacific rim with my brother and like 11 of his dude friends and we all sat in silence through credits until lights turned up and three of us said at the same time, awestruck, "that was awesome" and then got increasingly rowdy about it as we walked out. i don't know why i was even there
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.
It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

So you know what?

There’s a Rhythm Doctor stage where the game tells you to noodle on the piano. There’s one button and the note structure is fixed and you can’t fail. It’s a genuinely unique and moving structure in a rhythm game. I got very emotional.
