This. This is my response when someone says everyone should own a gun.

This; “I’ll get a gun and use it to protect myself” sounds great in the abstract, but a gun is not a safety totem, it does not magically make you safer because it exists in your home. It is a tool that only protects you if you use it in self-defense to kill another human. bsky.app/profile/jsla...
Not having fully grappled with the gravity of using a firearm is so common and shows up in so many ways.

I don't want to hear shit about how Newsom is standing up to Trump. A judge has issued a stay preventing the feds from yanking the CDLs of legal immigrants but @governor.ca.gov is going forward with it anyway. Just like he's persecuting trans people anyway.

Kobo Plus is a great service, but a reminder that no one gets paid for anything read during their free trial periods (unlike KU).
They pay out for re-reads (unlike KU!) and it's a great alternative for readers, but this is one of the reasons I don't put my whole catalogue in Plus. 🤷♀️
